Probable bad starter solenoid.

Close, but usually the culprit is the starter/solenoid internal copper contacts, which wear down through use. They're under $20/pr and easily replaced once you get the starter out...meaning the annoying lower bolt, which is sometimes more easily accessed from underneath.
Sounds like something spinning when trying to start.... Im thinking maybe starter motor....
