Alt or what"

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2003 Saturn Ion.  Two nights ago, Power Sterring was going out.  We
were told to replace fuses.  We did that  and running fine.  This morning Bat'ALT
dash light came on.  We barely made it home with barely no power.  Lights and
radio work along with power windos.  What may be wrong, the Altenater?

Yes it could be the alternator, you can take it to any parts store they'll do a free check on it. You need to have a fully charged battery for them to check the battery as well. Also check your serpentine belt for proper tension, if it feels loose that could have been your problem right there. (there is a spring loaded tensioner that keeps it in proper tension.)

Make sure the battery cables are clean and tught, if the are, take it to ur local autoparts store, they'll check charging system for u free of charge.
