my sunfire is hard to start but when i prime the throttlebody it still wont start what could it be

If you ran it out of gas it's probably a plugged fuel filter, plugged fuel pressure regulator, plugged screen on the fuel pump or a burned out fuel pump.

Mark is right. No spark and it wont run either. By priming the throttle body you are actually flooding the engine. I would also check the spark plugs to make sure they aren't fouled.
