Where are the spark plugs located on the 4.2 liter 4 cyl.?

There should be a plate on top of the engine that is held in place by four bolts. The spark plugs should be underneath that plate.

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am 4cyc and I can't find the spark plugs..also the person that owned this vehicle before me by passed the security and my ? Is would this bring up false codes?
