Why does my 01 Pontiac sunfire keep blowing
the fuse for dash lights and tail lights?You put
a new fuse in, turn on the lights and it blows

You have a short in that circuit. If you have an aftermarket stereo, I'd look there first. Otherwise check the wiring in the engine compartment. Make sure none of the wiring is too close to the hot exhaust manifold. Also inspect any wiring that is close to a sharp metal opening. Like coming from the headlight area. Also check the wiring going to the trunk light. Especially where it pivots with the trunk lid if applicable. Hope that helps! Jim
