does a 2001-2004 transmission work in a 2005 pontiac sunfire

i need to know beacuse mine broke!

I myself have 2005, and also broke it. However, the Grand AM, Malibu, Sunfire, and Caviler all have the same transmission. Also, I would assume 2003-2004 transmissions would fit: only because it's the same body style as the 2005

yes but has has to be later then 2002 , they changed the engine but its posible that it still will work..

the 01 and 02 transmissions won't fit as they are for the 2.2 non ecotec engine. but from 03 on it will work even the spd in the new cobalts would work.only cuz they are ecotecs

yes. just match the motor... you need the 2.2l ecotec motor found in 2002-2005's

We put two diff trans in it from exotic cars and neither will upshift manually or automatically
