My 06 engine light started to blink What now?

I have a 2006 grand prix.  I started it up this morning and let it run for a bit
before i went to school.  I drive 3 miles to town.  I got halfway into town and
my check engine light started flashing.  It was on before for a bad cooling fan
which isnt  a problem until the hotter months.  It seems like it doesnt get as
much power?  Thinking this is a misfire.  Any ideas?
