My wife drives a 2000 LX-470 and has almost 200,000 miles. I drive a 2006 LX-470 and have right at 100,000 miles. We always have the recommended services performed, most of the time at the Lexus dealership. Neither of us has ever had anything major go wrong with the engine or drive train. Both vehicles are very dependable and we plan to keep them another several years. Also, I tow a boat regularly with my LX and it tows great. I don't expect towing to shorten the life span of the vehicle at all. Hope this helps.
