ok- I was sure it was the master cylinder- now what indeed?! Answer some more questions: That's a nice car, how many miles on it? I guess you have a mechanic doing this, or is the work being done by yourself or a family member? And usually, by now, when a woman is asking for advice, at least 3 Gurus have jumped in- where are you, guys? lol

not sure if it is on this car but abs sytems sometimes need to be purged a shop can do it with a scanner or find a gravel lot or road or parking lot and go just fast enough to make the abs cycle and purge the air then rebleed the system some abs have a bleeder screw on them

Since your husband is a mechanic, I'm sure he has some ideas himself- it seems like you have replaced everything in the braking system and this is a stumper- the only things left are the vacuum booster if your car is equipped with one- and the brake hoses/lines- if the braking is assisted by any other means (hydraulic) that changes things- but the booster rarely goes out on anything but the oldest cars, so my best idea at this point is that there is still air in the system- recheck hoses, lines, bleeder screws (zerks) on the calipers, rebleed the system- with that much work done there may still be air captured in the system somewhere- the symptoms sound like it- let us know
