Hi! Replacing the water pump is a pretty routine part to replace, generally around or shortly after the 100,000 mile mark. It can be easily identified as "bad" by a loud screeching sound emanating from the engine area. Usually this part is, and should be changed with the timing belt as they have mutual deterioration characteristics and are located in roughly the same spot on the engine. This is a labor intensive job and while the parts are fairly cheap on average, it takes a sufficient amount of time to replace the parts and then reassemble the timing cover area. Generally 4-8 hours for tear down and another 4-8 hours of reassembly, depending on your engine proficiency. Hope this helps!
