1997 ES 300 that has 220K miles

Asked by KellySch Oct 29, 2007 at 05:12 PM about the 1997 Lexus ES

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Apparently 85% were highway miles as the owner was a sales rep for a state territory.  he has all service records and I am getting it for $3400 should I be concerned about the high mileage?

I would be concerned only from the standpoint that the car is 10 years old, and has about double the mileage normally seen on a 10-year old vehicle. If you have the money and time to repair it, that's fine -- you may see some things breaking as you start using it, and will have to be prepared for that. I would see if you could get it for even a small discount, say, $3000, so you have some cash reserve for the first repair necessary.
