shluld the small battery be changed before it stops working

Asked by GuruVR6J7 Sep 09, 2018 at 10:59 AM about the 2008 Lexus RX Hybrid

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My small battery "died" after midnight, leaving me stranded alone on the road.  Should one consider replacing the battery before it "dies"?  it is 2 years old, and on the test a few days earlier showied it to be functioning normally.  I am told that there is no way of telling when it will give out.

I have changed the small battery in my 2008 three times in the last 5 years. I think a good rule of thumb would be to start looking to change the battery at around 30 months.
