car jerking and hesitating

I have a nissan sentra 05 base model and the car has 97,000 miles. when I
drive it it jerks forward and it feels as if when i step on the gas it doesn't get
the gas for at least ten seconds then it will jerk forward , my service check
engine light is on and the other day my car completely shut off at a red light.
Also, it hesistates to start when i turn the key 75% of the time. help?

Look check the fuel injector wiring harnesses. That's what was wrong with me car...
