what faults?

Im thinking of buying a 1999 gallant 2.5 v6 manual 86,000 miles with some history.What should i look out for/check+when does the timing belt get changed?

No such Galant available in 1999 model year. I4 or 3.0L V6. I have the '99 Galant GTZ w 235,000 miles on it. Standard w V6. Manual trans not an option on V6 on '99 model. For the '99 V6, timing belt change recommended every 60k miles, depending on driving habits. Make sure you're actually looking at a '99 Galant. Your description doesn't sound correct. Perhaps it's a '98 Galant. Hope this helps.
