Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when pushing the gas petal/acceleraing, the engin is just loud! Its a 4 cyl. Sounds like a muscle car and its not the muffler.  When I reach desired speed, it levels out and is quiet again. I know acceleration can produce more noise in any car, but Ive never hear an engine this loud. The car runs great.

Could also have a small leak in the manifold or one of the pipes. Not all loud exhaust noise is caused by muffler alone. I would have the exhaust system checked out completely.
