my 95 grand marquis starts and idles fine. step on the gas pedal it falls on its face let it warm up it gets better but still falls on its face if you try yo give it to much pedal

I suspect the EGR is not functioning properly. Your smog guy would spot this in a jiffy!
any codes? beyond egr could be mass air flow, air filter,throttle position sw.

Sounds like the TPC. The Throttel Positioning Censor could be sticky. Try cleaning it with carb cleaner before replacing.
You can go ahead an start throwing parts at the car or, you can do a scan of the ECM first. With having OBD II, any kind of issues usally pop up with a scan. With out pulling codes, you will be spend money on parts that may not be faulty.

was working diagnostics on a ford, and the display told me to "goose the throttle", like as different than 'press the throttle down' so yeah, OBD is wacky!
