Engine revvs coasting downhill

I noticed my car with 75k on it started revving very loudly
when coasting downhill. The whole front dash vibrates. I
noticed I can get the vehicle to 'snap out of it' if I tap the
throttle. What is going on?

Cruise control failing to release, sticking throttle, etc. Why don't you take the car to a mechanic who can actually see the car.?
