Very loud value noise

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dealers mechanic listened & said to change lifters. I did,  still the same. Someone said might need shims. Dealers mechanic, never heard of that.   (HELP) Thanks Richard

Shims are used to set valve timing. No shim = tick. You need someone capable of dealing with new valve train. I'm not sure u can get a head without setting the valve timing. He needs more training. Find the senior mechanic.
