Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Mazda 3 hatchback with a 2.3 engine I was wondering would a 2.5 engine from the the newer models
fit into my 05 hatchback?

If your 2.3 is running well, I would leave it in there until it gets tired. I have 140k miles on mine, and it runs fantastic, it's peppy, and it does not burn any oil. Jim

Can I take a 2095 mazda 3 engine and put it into a 2007 mazda 3 body? The 2004 is a manual transmission and the 2007 is a automatic. I'm not changing transmissions.
