Rodents chewed through wires of 2017 Santa Fe

Asked by OldFashionedGirlNext... Nov 29, 2020 at 09:07 PM about the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. I took it to
the dealership yesterday for routine service
and mentioned the car began stuttering 2
days prior.  They called me to say rodents
have chewed through wires and the car is
unsafe to drive and requires repairs that will
be at least a few thousand dollars.
I drive the car briefly every day and park it on
the street. There are 4 vehicles in my driveway
and none appear to be impacted.
My car had extensive work done on the
engine only 3 months ago and they reported
no concerns at that time.
Does this sound right?
Can this happen that quickly to render the car
undrivable? Why are the other 4 vehicles
unaffected?
Should this be covered under my warranty
which runs till 2025?

Warranties do not cover rodent damage. Get another quote as dealers are very high.
