2017 Chevy Traverse won’t start after getting gas

Asked by Guru9ZTM2W Dec 01, 2020 at 12:27 AM about the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2017 Chevy Traverse has started not
starting after getting gas. I turn the key to on
and the motor turns, trying to crank, but never
does. I will turn the key off then try again a
2nd time and give the car gas and it sputters
to a start.

What is causing this?

I did get a check engine light that came on
when I started my car. I ran the free test at
Pep Boys and it threw out a P0174 error code
that said System Too Lean (bank 2). The
engine light went off after a few drives. My
problem persist. I’ve been told it’s the PCV
Valve and/or the O2 sensor.

Those are just a couple of possible causes. Dirty mass airflow sensor, injectors, vacuum leaks, intake manifold gasket, fuel ratio sensor, and low fuel pressure can all cause the p0174 code to come up. As well as the o2 sensor and pcv valve

If it has trouble starting after fueling try replacing the canister purge solenoid. They tend to stick in the slightly open position causing fuel vapor to get into the engine flooding it.

The purge Solenoid is definitely your problem here it’s on the front of the engine toward the grill back by the transmission
