I have a 1964 mercury marauder with a 360 cid carburated engine . i changed it a week ago but now it is running like it is missing . When i put pressure on the distributor cap it seems to straighten out . I'm going to replace the cap and rotor . any other ideas ?

A cap and rotor are a good start. New plugs and wires could help. Also check to see if the points are good and that the distributor shaft does not wobble.
