Key fob opens car doors but won't start the car

Asked by HR60 Sep 07, 2018 at 09:20 AM about the 2015 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have two key fobs.

One works fine.

The other will always open the doors... but won't always start the ignition... even when I hold the key fob close to the push-button ignition.

Does the tiny battery in the key fob need to be replaced, or is this something else?

You probably should replace the batteries in the FOBs every couple of years. Make sure you use the correct battery and install it with the proper polarity.
