Audio Unit and Steering Wheel Control Unit Problem following Software Update

Asked by Payam7383 Oct 01, 2021 at 03:17 AM about the 2015 Hyundai Tucson

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, I got my Hyundai Tucson 2015 serviced and they updated the software
of Audio Unit and
Steering Wheel Control Unit. When I tried to use it, all the buttons were doing
the wrong functions for example, Volume Up works as Mute, Volume Down
works as Volume Up, Mute changes the radio channel, and so on. Even the
Bluetooth recognizes the mobile as handset and the speaker doesn't work.
They say it's a hardware issue and claim that detected a short in the unit but
I believe this cannot be the issue since all buttons, nobs, switches are
working but with a different function. The problem should be mapping of new
software with hardware. Any idea or advise?

Thanks GA, that is also my understanding. I asked them two times and they always came back with the same answer not responding to my root-cause analysis based questions. I thought to explain it here then I may find some people with the same problem and see how they fixed it.

Yeah, I should look into this option if I cannot find a solution to fix the problem with the original units. I will share the result here including the price for aftermarket unit if that's the only option.

Found below resource, downloaded the software firmware file and updated the software using USB and the problem fixed. https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=52444.0
