will a pcm from a 92 ranger manual transmisson work in a 95 explorer?

have a manual 5 speed 4 wheel drive transmission i am trying to put into a 95
explorer that came with an automatic 4 wheel drive transmission.

with the ranger and the explorer having the same size motor, a 4.0, wouldnt this mean that the pcm's are the same?

Not necessarily. Check the history of the 4.0 OHV engine. There were block, head, cam, etc modifications throughout it's life. I doubt seriously the two engines are the same in both vehicles.
