You should use the 5W-20 synthetic blend as recommended which is fine for all seasons. For the owners manual, go to http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/manuals/ and you can verify. I live in Louisiana and it is hot here and I still use the 5W-20 all year round. You can use 5W-30 if you are really concerned; with the 5W-30 you might see a very small increase in gasoline consumption for city driving. Personally, I use BG MOA with my 5W-20 synthetic blend which makes it as good as any synthetic (up to 5,000 miles) and will help handle any hotter than normal weather you might have. I hope this is helpful. Mpemba.

i am a dodge certified service writer and have written up and done more oil changes than most human will ever do. 2014 or up Chrysler town and country or the grand caravan both use the same engine 3.6. they do not require synthetic blend at all. you can use regular conventional motor oil as that is all that is required. here is a little known fact about the oil you get from you local dealership and synthetic blend....first the dealership. from your dodge dealership there conventional oil meets the standards for synthetic blend but they sell it as conventional. at 28.95 that is a steal. to meet the standards to be called synthetic blend you only need 8-10% synthetic oil in the mix. i bet you thought it was a 50/50 huh, this is not so. dodge even offers you a 4 pack of oil changes for 85.00 and its good at any dealership in america and anyone can take it there. that brings it down to $21.25 a oil change. shop smart and do some research.

And that is why I never let anyone change my oil so I know what I am getting.

use AMSOIL, It is 100% synthetic. not that so called blend, or full B.S. they try to say is synthetic. It is much better for your engine. Go to enos.myamsoil.com to read up on it. 5w20 is what i use. My average mpg stays around 27.5 . I Uber , and Lyft . That is above the highway millage for t&c. I hope this helps you.
