Dead car

Asked by May 13, 2019 at 01:26 PM about the 2014 Acura TL

Question type: General

Car died on me today. Oil pressure was on, check engine was one and then I
lost control over the steering wheels. Nothing is wrong with the battery since I
can still turn on the car, and the windows still opens and closes. Any possible
answers to what's wrong with the car? I might want to sell it since I can't find the
right idea. Friends thinks it's a blown head gasket.

With the CEL on, it could be that the car detected a problem so severe that it immobilized itself. It might be that the alternator is dying and not properly charging the battery. That's often the problem when you have lights and accessories working, but not enough current to turn the starter motor. This might be a simple fix, or it might be expensive. You need an Acura mechanic to diagnose this.
