This has happened to me on my 04 GC Limited. I had to slice open the wire sheath going to the drivers door. Inside the power wire had broken. I just re soldered it and now it's good as new. At some point when I feel like pulling off the inner kick panel and the door panel I'll replace the wire so my splice isn't in the hinge of the door. Hope this helps!

Typically the wire harness near the door jam or were is pivots dries out the wire housing and gets brittle. Then it breaks along with the wire inside. Thus no power, open circuit, short, or intermittent functionality.

both above are correct but save your self time and hastle, run a new wire from the inner kick panel to the inside of the drivers door panel. Or it WILL brake again! I have done this procedure to around 50 jeep grand cherokee's
