engine swap

Asked by Feb 04, 2019 at 12:45 PM about the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question type: Car Customization

will a 4.0 inline 6 bolt up to the transmission of a 2005 grand Cherokee Laredo that currently has a 3.7 v6

1 Answer

The 4.0 liter six was not available in the 2005 Grand Cherokees as it was replaced by the 3.7 liter V6 that year. That means the engine computer is not compatible and it won't run. You will have to go with another 3.7 of the same model year. The 4.7 liter V8 won't work either.
