The timing cover is leaking on my Chevy Traverse.
The timing cover is leaking on my Chevy Traverse. It's not a horrible leak but
definitely noticeable. Should we pay (over $1,000) to have it fixed or is it ok to
have a little oil leak?
Timing cover leaks are a result of factory sealants breaking down. The leak will get progressively worse. Upper engine components are usually damaged first as a result of low lubrication. It is definitely recommended if needed! Although expensive, if done correctly, it can go potentially 100,000 miles before needing it again!
It’s your valve cover gaskets were they meet the timing cover .my 3.6 had same issue 150 $in parts and 4hrs or so in driveway upper lower intake remove then covers pretty simple just lots to take apart .lits of vids on you tube
