best fuel type for 2012 CC

To be sure read the owner's manual for the required fuel. Some vehicles require premium fuel and for some of them it is recommended. In my opinion Ed is giving you bad advise on this issue.

I go with the owners manual. I use mid grade because low grade runs thru too fast and doesn't seem to run as strong. I should be runnjng premium too. As many additives in gasoline these days it's hard to call it gasoline. It can be possible that higher octane will burn more complete - less deposits, also I have read that around 2012 there's so little difference in grades due to the variable cam timing and ecm control. Compare your fuel consumption to miles and see what makes you happy. Also, the 6.1 hemi runs extra hot to burn fuel more completely. It requires premium as well but hi operating temp is concerning to me. Choose your poison.
