2.4 engine Patriot and towing boat.

Asked by salmonfisherman Aug 18, 2011 at 06:08 PM about the 2011 Jeep Patriot

Question type: General

I have a 2011 Patriot Latitude with a 2.4 ltr. mill.  It already has an oil cooler from factory, as to a tranny cooler, I don't know.  My question is, how many issues will I have towing a 1650 boat for 650 miles.  No major terrain issues such as mountains, etc., will be present.  I have a Curt 2" receiver hitch already installed, I
will install the ball height as to needed tongue weight once known.  Have folks had problems with towing this weight?

there should be a spot on the inside of the frame for the driver's door saying how much it can haul. Otherwise, check your owner's manual, it'll always have this kind of stuff, pretty much anything you'd need to know
