I find the steering on my 2011 Hyundai Sonata to be excessively heavy and the headlights to be inadequate.

The last car I had, before the Sonata, was 10 years old.  I was satisfied with its steering feel and headlight intensity.  With the new Sonata I find the steering to be excessively heavy and the headlight beam inadequate.  I assume steering in the old car did not include an electric console similar to the Sonata's.   A dealer checked the steering and headlights and rendered them "within specifications".  Has anyone else experienced these problems?  I have Korean tires with nitrogen.

Tires would not cause heavy steering. Did you not test drive the car prior to buying it? Electric steering assist is quite common in newer cars, it is a fuel economy measure, but it does create a different feel than the older mechanically boosted vehicles. Newer cars have higher intensity lights than older ones, however the 'cutoff' is much sharper and as a result they may appear to be less powerful when in fact the opposite is true.
