Hello I have a 2001 Hyundai elantra. A couple of months ago my car started to over heat and I lost heat.I was told it was the thermostat,so I got it replaced.after getting it replaced my car continue to overheat. I took it to a mechanic.and he said it was the head gasket, i didnt replace it and after driving one day it started to over heat and now stop working.I talk to a mechanic and he told me I should just replace the whole engine instead of just fixing the head gasket.that it would be better and almost the same price.my question is should I just replace the' gasket or replace the engine like he said?

Does your engine still turn over? If it doesn't, it's time for a different engine. Did anyone chew you out yet for not tending to your beckoning near death engine.

look at the numbers, the answer is easy...the Koreans haven't been playing this game long enough to amount to anything~....just think about how easily the door closes~

Yes I know.I didn't drive for days on a bad gasket.I was driving it to a family mechanic when the car overheat and wouldn't start again.but no the car does not start.thanks everyone for your answers and ill pass on the Toyota.
