I have a Mazda Tribute 2010 and would like to know if there is suppose to be a light that shows up beside the drive, revers, park at night

When i drive at night there is no light beside the drive, reverse or park areaa on counsil ....should there be a light to indicate what gear I'm in

Yes, there should be. Pull up on the shifter surround and replace the bulb. It's very probably burned out.
