Has anyone heard of a bad windshield
replacement where the adhesive glued shut the
distribution box door causing it not to function
Wouldn't surprise me.
Any actual experience?? I'm fighting Safelite...
I really need some help!!!
Did they inspect it and confirm that is what happened, or did your mechanic?
I really need some help!!! My mechanic did. Said that's what they use. And there was no other way for an epoxy to get down there other than through the small vent holes from the bottom of the windshield
I thought we we're helping? This is what I would do, take a trip back to Safelite with the mechanics bill or report specifying the issue and show them. Safelite should then inspect their work. They should make good on their work and remove the windshield and remove the adhesive and reseal the windshield. Is it under 30 days? From the safelite site "Under our national lifetime warranty, automotive glass is warranted against defects in material or workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle in which the glass is installed so long as such defects are brought to the attention of Safelite within 30 days of your discovery of a defect."
