Where does this vacuum line lead to?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was changing the EGR valve on my 2010 Ford Explorer and accidently
broke this vacuum line and have no idea where it leads to to fix it. I think it
might be somewhere behind the intake manifold but I haven't found anything
online about it. Can anyone help? It is the hose circled in red and the blue
arrow shows which direction it was going. Also, the air only blows through
the defrost vents now if that helps any.

That's going to be the vacuum hose for the climate control system. The system defaults to defrost for safety reasons when the system loses vacuum. Look for a vacuum reserve tank in the area where the hose was coming from. It may be inside the driver's fender. You're looking for a square black plastic box or ball looking thing, probably a box. You should see 2 vacuum hoses hooked up to it. Obviously one will be broken off. Hope that helps! Jim

Look for a vacuum box on the firewall by the blue arrow.

@js08016 thank you so much Jim! I'll have to check tomorrow morning. I knew it had to go to some side over there but now that I know what i'm looking for it should help out a lot!
