water leak on back passenger floorboard

I just had the same thing happen. It seems to be related to the rear lights leaking into the trunk, then the back seat, then the rear floor board. Check under the backseat where the battery sits, 'cause it might be sitting in water! My autobody guy just quoted me $500 to fix that mess. Also, I'm curious if that was why the check engine light came on ever time it rained?
