Asked by Aug 16, 2017 at 12:20 PM about the 2010 Ford Focus

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

A lady is selling her husbands work car to me. 2010
Ford Focus, 187k miles for $3000. I was told that he
drove 100 miles everyday for 4 years. He kept up
with the maintenance and selling due to him
passing away. I'm not educated when it comes to
cars and needing help deciding if this would be a
good purchase! Please help. How long would it
last?

if your set on purchasing the car have a mechanic look it over before purchase. That way you know what issues it currently has and will need replacing in the future. The car doesn't have much life left into it. How many miles do you drive a year? Also what trim level is it? $3000 is over retail price for a dealer. This is a private party sale. A Focus with that many miles. It's only worth around $2000 if it's nice shape.

Thank you so much! What do you say about a 2002 Toyota Camry with 235k miles? How much would you say it's work and life left on it?
