prelude 2000

pull the VIN off of both and talk to a dealer and find out what the spec are. If it's a match, it shouldn't be a problem

No, only another prelude 1997 to 2001. If you don't want to waste time looking around the junkyards to save a few $$, you can buy a new OE one for around $50.
