Mazda Tribute sleeper(has it been done and should I do it)
Asked by Isaac Oct 01, 2019 at 01:41 AM about the 2009 Mazda Tribute
Question type: Car Customization
Hey so I’m 16 and have my license and my
mom gave me her car when she got a new
one problem is it’s a 2009 Mazda Tribute that
sounds depressed when it idles and is a v4
automatic 2.0 liter and I was wondering how I
should go about or if I should go about
making it a sleeper I already got a job to save
up for a new car but I think tuning the Mazda
would be a much more interesting project

I guess I can't understand by what convolution of imagination could you conceive of this car as a sleeper? But then, it might be the ultimate sleeper if you put an enormous amount of money into it. Maybe a Ferrari drivetrain. The Tribute is what it is, and will never be anything noticeably more. No engine modifications will produce much. No suspension modifications will produce much. Etc.! This would just be a money-pit with funds you'll never recoup.

Since engine swaps are so complicated and involved these days they really are not practical for street use. Older cars from the 60's or 70's can make good basis for a sleeper car. Modern cars that can take a bolt on supercharger are also good sleeper candidates.
