I have a 2009 passat, every time I take it on the highway all of a sudden it will just stop excelerating. I have to pull over, turn the car off, wait a few minutes, and then I start it and it is fine.

hows the oil in the car ? have you noticed any blinking lights on the dash? one thing i would recommend would be a scan from a VW specialist shop or ross tech software. If there is a issue it will have registered in the cars computer.
