hi i have a 2001 honda accord with lots of miles,but still runs an looks pretty good
anyway ive noticed that my transmission has been slipping an starting to get worse
when it has been driven for awhile it just almost dont want to go when the engine gets
warmer.Do you think that a new transmission is needed or hopefully something easier,i
just dont have the money for a new one at this time.would appriciate all the help i can

Debbie, what exactly are "Lots of miles" & "driven for awhile" ? Numbers are usually a better help for assessment purposes. The car is 14 years old so a transmission failure certainly is possible. Did you always own the car or if not, do you know anything about the maintenance history of it? Either way, you could try a drain/flush new filter and Fluid change on it and see if it helps if you haven't already tried that. Some cars have never had a transmission fluid & filter change at all prior to failing while others have had them regularly and some have never been done and never failed! The problem could also be gummed up and sticking solenoid valves in the transmission that can sometimes be cleaned and restored by changing the fluid & filter and putting a cleaning additive into the transmission and driving a couple hundred miles, hen do another fluid/filter change, but it is all a matter of luck and exactly what the problem is. It's best to go to a tranny Specialist and have them evaluate your problem.

Typically a 4 speed automatic tranny manuals gear boxed ones are rare !!!
Drain the transmission fluid replace with Valvoline synthetic transmission fluid from Walmart and a bottle of Lucas no slip transmission fix that should do ya good luck !!!
