Error code P0302 on ford expedition 1998

Asked by want2learn Oct 19, 2015 at 11:34 AM about the 1998 Ford Expedition

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car is sputtering and has this error code.  There is moisture around the
second spark plug.  Called the dealer and they mentioned replacing the
ignition coil (dealer hasn't seen truck yet).  All spark plugs were replaced 8
months ago.  Can I insist dealer just replaces plug without replacing ignition
coil to see if that clears the problem?  I'm concerned the dealer may want
to do more work than necessary to help empty my wallet.

You can tell them to do whatever you want. If it fixes the issue, then great! But in my experience, it is usually the coil.
