rain water on the floor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1996 GMC suburban
When it rains I get water in the heater box that drips onto the floor on the passenger side.  Does anyone know where it might be coming in?

Hi markr. First be sure it is rain water and not coolant. That should be a fairly obvious difference but a heater core failure will present similarly. As for rain water that's almost assuredly the windshield. Has it been replaced?. One way to help narrow the search down (short of taking it to a dealer to be checked out) is to get out there with a hose and see if you can find the leak by spraying the vehicle. Good luck!
