Check the transmission lines running to the radiator to make sure it is not just pumping the trany fluid onto the ground. May have a damaged trany line to the radiator.

It depends on how much of a jolt the trany took, best to get it to a transmission shop for proper diagnosis.

From what I can tell no brakes in the wires anywhere up around battery if I got it neutral and then put it clear down to first gear you can hear it hit but when you give it gas it just revs like low on fluid got a slight fluid leak coming from electronic linkage but training is top off but reverse goes great like brand new

Is it possible for the transfer to let it go backwards but not forward the universal joint bad but If I go from neutral to first I hear the universal joint Hit then up to third or drive I can also hear hit

Myself, I think something happen in the trany. Those year transmissions, there is a week shaft inside that snaps, a common problem with these year tranys, from '99 to 2004, and the jolt hitting the deer just may have done her in. I would have a transmission shop look at it.

Sorry one more thing I just found out if I put transfer into neutral and go from drive to park it grinds you know the sound don't that mean the traniing working don't make sound if transfer in 2 high or 4 high
