how can I tell if my 2000 Yukon XL SLT model 15906 is a 1500 or a 2500 ?

3/4 ton (2500) and larger vehicles usually have wheels with 8 lugs or more. 1/2 ton (1500) vehicles normally have 6 lug wheels or less

Call any gm dealer to be positive. they will ask for the VIN which can be found on the registration. They will give you any info needed.
