Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Let a friend take my 2003 Yukon for a short time.
He end up leaving my lights on and killed my
battery. After he got a jump my truck is doing
things that NVR happens before ! When I turn it on
it sounds like a police radar or fuzz buster noise an
all types of security looking lights go off on my
dash that look like security lights. .Then they
continue periodically while driving. But I've NVR
seen these lights ever before. Also my truck is
stalling idelling low and dying at start up as well as
stops . If I let up & stop giving it gas it dies within
the first min or two.  If that. I went to Auto zone put
it on diagnostic and a new code did pop up. I
already had mass air flow and bank 1 system lean .
And now vaperative emissions perge control valve
is the new code showing up. I am just a girl so plz
explain best you can if anyone can help. I just
know it was not running like this stalled on me
NVR & NONE of this security stuff has ever
happens . Also I've NVR had to jump my truck. My
battery level is over 14 as well & I just did spark
plugs prior to this.  Hoping he did not mess up
something pertaining to computer plz help me
where do I begin?

Typically a reset will help. Disconnect your battery (both cables) and hold the two cable ends together for several minutes. This will erase any of the data in the computer that is related to the issues that you are having. It may have issues running at first when you reconnect the battery and start it. It may idle low and even die, which is a relearning process it goes through to get everything adjusted to where it runs as efficiently as possible. If you're lucky, that fixes the issues. If you're not lucky (like me), the issues may pop up again after a few days or even weeks. At that point, your next course of action would be to take it to the dealership and have the computer "flashed". This should correct the problems for good unless your ECM (computer) needs to be replaced completely. This was my experience, your issues sound very similar to the ones that I was having.
