O/D light flashing

Asked by Rudes1 Dec 31, 2018 at 02:29 PM about the 1999 Ford Explorer

Question type: General

I have a 1999 Ford explorer for a while the OD light
was flashing. I looked into it and it said it can be
possible transmission problem so I took it to a
mechanic he couldn't figure it out. The battery I had
was almost dead and eventually died so I replaced
it. Once I put a new battery I haven't seen the OD
light come back on. Is it possible for that to
happen because of a bad battery??

Low voltage can cause a lot of electronics problems. If the light comes on again you need to have transmission mechanic look at it. They may be able to read transmission trouble codes.
