Went to put 2004 Envoy in park and shifter went all the way forward but left car in drive. Now I can't start the car or move the shifter. What in the world happened and how do we fix it?

Sounds like the cable that shifts the transmission came loose. You will have to look under the truck for where the cable attaches to the linkage. It is on the drivers side.

Dorman makes a replacement bushing where the cable popped off. Pretty common on the GMT360. To get you buy, you can use zip ties.
